I got the job! Okay... so long story... i walked into affordable photo like i had planned- and they looked at my portfolio and were like "yea- this is really impressive... but we aren't looking for anyone new right now... and i doubt there will be a position available in the summer". i guess i looked upset because one lady was like "Wait- i

think day6design is looking for some people!" so i drove literally a block down main street and pulled up to this little building i swear i've never seen before... and i've lived in this town my entire life. it was so neat inside- like an urban art gallery or something. the people at the desk asked to see my portfolio and the man was really excited and said he felt i had the same eye and would be honored if i represented day6. so, right now i'm an intern... i go to a prom fair on saturday to get to know the staff. apparently the

staff is like a huge family. one of which went to high school with me, jake. he's a nice guy. my new boss, patrick, told me i would be taking pictures of t-ball kids, weddings, senior pictures, engagement pictures, and babies. I just have to intern under him for 2-3 weeks and then he plans to set me off on my own. the official photographer. :) i know. i'm excited too! haha. at the end of the summer he's going to pay me a lump sum for wage or will just give me a weekly pay. this is going to be
perfect. instead of being a counselor at camp lutherhaven for 10

weeks, away from home, i'll be 2 minutes from my house doing something i love
and have dreamed of doing... close to home, family, friends, and caleb. And on top of it all- patrick looked me in the eyes and said "i'm sorry if i offend you in anyway but i have to ask. are you a believer?" i smiled soooo big. He went on to tell me that he runs his according to his faith and goes with what God wants him to do- always... and that it's important to him that his e

mployees at least understand where he is coming from. GAH! It was so cool. He told me not to take the offer unless i felt at peace with the idea of working there and after i went home to talk to my parents and pray about it. HOW COOL. i am at such a relief that i know what i'm doing this summer... and that what i'm doing is something i love... i'm not going to be just sitting at a desk somewhere but going outside and taking pictures and meeting and talking to people. mmmmm. smiles.
abbey....congratulations on getting the job!!!! it is a pretty great place to work at... have you met christina, the graphic designer yet? she is awesome... one quick word of advice... do not, DO NOT call him "pat", it's "Patrick"...thought i would save you the firey eruption that becomes of day 6 if the name pat is to be used... lol.... ok...well once again congrats and i look forward to working with you this spring/summer!
